The sixteenth Asian Movie Awards happened on March 12 on the Hong Kong Jockey Membership Auditorium on the Hong Kong Palace Museum. Korean productions earned a number of awards.
Whereas the Japanese movie Drive My Automotive received Finest Movie, the Finest Director Award went to Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda for his movie Dealer, which stars Korean actors Track Kang-ho, IU, Gang Dong-won, Bae Doona and Lee Joo Younger. The movie, about two child brokers—and the mom whose child they’re able to dealer—was set in Korea. Chas Chau, Tony Leung and Tai Kwok received Finest Visible Results for Warriors of the Future. Finest Sound went to Duu-Chih Tu for Anita. A Lifetime Achievement Award was introduced to Sammo Hung of Hong Kong and Tony Leung Chiu Wai received an Asian Movie Contribution Award. Hiroshi Abe obtained an Excellence in Asian Cinema Award.
Korean actor Ji Chang-wook obtained a Subsequent Technology Award for his work in movies reminiscent of Fabricated Metropolis. This 12 months the actor will be seen within the Disney Korean TV drama The Worst of Evil.
